Questions & answers
The questions homeowners actually ask.
The questions homeowners actually ask us, in the order they tend to ask them — from "is this a job for you?" through to "what happens once you've finished?"
Stage
Before you decide
What kind of work do you take on?
We refurbish bathrooms and en-suites, install kitchens, and take on general building and whole-room renovations across Beaconsfield, Cippenham, Slough and South Bucks. Because we also cover electrics, plumbing, floor laying, tiling and decorating ourselves, most refits are handled start to finish by one team — you don't need to line up separate trades.
We've never done a project like this before — is that a problem?
Not at all — a lot of our customers are first-timers. As Katie put it in her review, "during the planning stages Derek was so consultative and this really helped us feel comfortable as we hadn't done any changes like this before." Derek will talk you through the decisions and give honest advice on what works, without any pressure.
Who will actually be doing the work — Derek or Jack?
Both. Derek runs the jobs and does the work, and his father-in-law Jack works alongside him, sometimes taking on a refit himself when the schedule needs it. Customers who've planned a job with Derek and had it built by Jack tell us there are "no miscommunications" between them and the same care throughout.

Getting a quote
Do you charge for a visit or a quote?
No. Derek will come out, look at the job properly and talk it through, and there's no charge for that conversation or for the written quote that follows.
How detailed is the quote, and will the final bill match it?
You get a detailed itemised quote before any work starts, so you can see exactly what's included. And it's what you pay — one customer wrote that "the initial detailed itemised quote… is exactly what we paid several months later," and another that our quotes are "transparent, and are true to final cost (no hidden add-ons!)."
Stage
During the work
How much mess and disruption should we expect?
We work to keep it contained — dust protection where it's needed and the site left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Louise's review notes we "leave the working area clean and tidy at the end of each day," and Katie that Derek "was so tidy each day." A refit is never invisible, but it needn't take over the house.
What if we want to change something mid-way?
We check in as we go — asking questions during the job "to check the work is exactly what is expected," as Hannah's review describes, and offering suggestions where they help. If something changes, we'll talk through what it means for the work and the cost before doing it, so there are no surprises.

Areas & availability
Which areas do you cover?
Beaconsfield, Cippenham, Slough, Taplow, Burnham, Farnham Common, Gerrards Cross, Stoke Poges and the surrounding South Bucks villages, plus nearby Maidenhead, Marlow and Chalfont St Peter. If you're close by, just ask.
Can we book you for more than one room?
Yes — plenty of customers do. Katie finished one bathroom and told us they were "just waiting for the next available slot so we can start on other rooms in the house," and Jaskaran recommended us to his mum, where Jack went on to fit two more bathrooms. It's usually worth talking through a phased plan up front.
Still have a question?
Ask Derek directly — there's no charge for a chat or a quote.
